Mitra Happenings - Dec 16

Dec 2, 2016 – Vibgyor Week

Colours are everywhere, and it was a wonderful experience for children to see how colours mix and form other colours by story narration and hands on experiences. The colours of the rainbow came alive with the students of Std. I coming attired in rainbow colours throughout the week. Different rainbow-colour-based activities were organized. These activities included class assembly, still-life drawing, collage , poster and booklet making. They learnt how a rainbow is formed through picture cut-outs. The concept of 'Save Water' and 'Save Trees' were introduced and the students made a collage based on them. Facts about each colour and colouring activities encouraged the development of creative, imaginative and psycho-motor skills. It also provided children with the opportunity to learn and consolidate their understanding about colours. The children were amazed and excited throughout the activity. It was a great way to reinforce the learning of colours.
