July 02, 2016 – The Investiture Ceremony

Creating the Future – Together , The Investiture Ceremony for the newly - elected members of the Student Council 2016 of Mitra Academy was held on July 2, 2016 at the A.R.A .Memorial Hall. The day began with an invocation song rendered by students. The Chief Guest for the occasion, Mrs. Sarah Abraham, Principal, R.V. Public School and members of the Management team of Mitra Academy lit the ceremonial lamp to the chanting of shlokas by the students. The Headmistress Ms. Vani Trilok welcomed the gathering, explained the electoral process that was followed to elect the leaders including the use of the electronic voting machine. She encouraged the students to live up to the promises they had made and to seriously take up the responsibility of “Creating a future together” . The Office Bearers received their badges and their sashes from the Chief Guest. Ms Vani administered the solemn oath to the student leaders who pledged to carry out their duties with sincerity, always upholding the honour of the school. On behalf of the Student Council, the Head Girl in her acceptance speech, promised to discharge her duties with a deep sense of commitment and fulfill the expectations of the students and staff. The Chief Guest in her address while congratulating the student leaders and their parents pointed out the tremendous opportunity that the school has provided them to prepare for the challenging journey of life. The head boy proposed the vote of thanks to all for the support received to make this programme a success. This memorable day ended with the singing of the National Anthem.

July 02, 2016 – Open House - LKG & UKG

The first open house for LKG & UKG was held on Saturday, July 02, 2016. The atmosphere was charged with hustle bustle, as eager parents grabbed the opportunity to meet the class teachers and discuss their ward's progress. Parents were given a Welcome Pack. Innovative activities conducted in the classrooms further added to their excitement. LKG parents made wonderful portraits of their family members, while UKG parents exercised their creative skills in origami activities. They then placed their creations with pride in their child's classroom.

July 05, 2016 – Eid Celebration – Special Assembly - Kinderworld

Festivals form an integral part of our country. In order to create religious tolerance and awareness about different festivals celebrated in our country, in the tender minds of our children, we at Mitra Kinderworld organize special assemblies before or after every important festival. Similarly a special assembly was held on Tuesday, July 05, 2016 to throw light on the importance of Eid. Children and teachers came dressed in traditional clothes. A puppet show was organized to enlighten the little ones about the significance of Eid. Teachers spoke briefly about the importance and celebration of Eid. Children also spoke a few sentences on Eid.

July 05, 2016 – Eid Celebration – Special Assembly - Std. V to X

Eid the festival that upholds the spirit of brotherhood and love, was celebrated on July 5, 2016 at Mitra Academy. To commemorate this special occasion, the students of grade VI presented a cultural program enlightening the school community about the significance of Eid. The students began by reciting a few verses from the Holy Quran. This was followed by two melodious songs. They shared some valuable information about the month of ‘Ramadan’. This festival is also celebrated as a time to bring people together in harmony and gratitude.

July 11 to 17, 2016 – Rainbow Week - Kinderworld

Rainbow week was celebrated with great vigour in Mitra Kinderworld. The colours of the rainbow came alive with all the Pre-KG teachers as well as the children coming attired in rainbow colours throughout the week. On each day of the rainbow week an exciting activity associated with the colour for the day was organized. These activities included class assembly, colour march, experiments, collage, painting and so on. The class rooms were decorated aesthetically with colour papers and cutouts. The rainbow week indeed helped in reinforcing the concept of rainbow colours apart from enhancing the creative as well as psychomotor skills of the children.

July 04, 2016 – Seen and Unseen Passage Reading Competition

Reading is important because it develops the mind. As mind is a muscle it needs exercise. Understanding the written word is one way, the mind grows in its ability and helps develop language skills. To inculcate the habit to read with perfection and expression, the Primary section organised a Seen and Unseen Passage Reading for the students of Std. III and IV. The students were asked to read one seen and one unseen passage in the respective classrooms. They were simultaneously being judged by their English language teachers. The competition gave the students a platform to exhibit their speaking skills and also made them aware of ways in which they can make their reading more influential.

July 22, 2016 – Umbrella making activity - Std. III to IV

The rainy season is back again and so keeping the theme of rain and colourful umbrellas, the primary section of Mitra Academy organised Umbrella making activity on 22nd July 2016 for Std. III and IV. The enthusiastic students along with the guidance of art teachers made colourful and vibrant umbrellas which they proudly exhibited in their respective classrooms.
